May 11, 2008. Under the high patronage of The Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Undersecretary Mr. Rasheed Al Tabtabaei opened Horeca Kuwait 2008, the 4th hospitality and food exhibition at Kuwait Regency Palace with overwhelming participation from leading local, regional and international companies from Egypt, Lebanon, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, UAE, China, Germany and Kuwait.

The opening ceremony of Horeca Kuwait 2008 was attended by Owners / Presidents / CEOs of participating companies, hotels, restaurants and key players from the hospitality and foodservice industries, and representatives from the press & the media.

Mr. Rasheed Tabtabaei praised the organizers for this new edition and expressed his sincere wishes that this annual event would contribute in the development of the hospitality industry in Kuwait.

Horeca Kuwait 2008 in its 4th consecutive year copes with the increasing demand in the food & hospitality industry in the regional countries in general and in Kuwait in particular.

The importance of Horeca Kuwait show has doubled, due to the soon openings in the coming years of more than 20 new hotels and furnished apartments and the fact that Horeca has become an annual meeting place for the hospitality and foodservice industries where they exchange point of views and expertise and discuss the latest industry innovations.

From his side, Mr. Rabee Baadarani - General Manager of Universal Business Solutions – Kuwait, announced that Horeca Kuwait 08 is very much distinguished and distinctive in terms of its participation, as many leading international companies of the industry have participated in its activities alongside leading counterparts from Kuwait and from the Middle East. This endows on Horeca Kuwait exhibition an
elite presence and position and stresses on its leadership not only at the regional and local levels but its int’l level as well.

Mrs. Joumana Dammous Salamé managing director of Hospitality Services co-organizer of the event, stressed that the Chefs competition which was a major highlight and success of Horeca Kuwait 2007 is even bigger and better this year, with more than 85 executive chefs from major hotels and leading restaurants in Kuwait, competing in front of an international panel of judges, in the Culinary Art Show, from France, Germany, Switzerland and Dubai and headed by Chef Semaan Hilal from Le Notre.

Other various activities including award ceremonies, daily competitions and workshops are taking place during the coming three-day event and are expected to attract all players of the industry.

The event is jointly organized by UBS and Hospitality Services.
